Majority of Indian employers (72 per cent) prefer to hire candidates in the age group of 30 years and below, finds the India Skills Report 2015, a joint initiative by Wheebox, PeopleStrong and LinkedIn. Employers across the sectors forecast an increase of 23 per cent in hiring per month - hospitality and travel lead the way with an increase of over 50 per cent in the hiring numbers in the coming year. Internal referrals are the most preferred sourcing channels followed by job portals. The trend of choosing candidates with the use of social media has increased from 6 per cent last year to 12 per cent this year. On the gender diversity front, the numbers have improved. While last year the male to female ratio stood at 76:24, this year it was recorded to be 68:32.
