IIM-A's 8th PGPX batch to have 14% international students

Eighty Five students have joined the prestigious Indian Institute of Management- Ahmedabad (IIM-A)’s one year post-graduate programme in management for executives (PGPX) for 2013-14.

Out of the 85 students in the eigth batch of PGPX, 12 students or about 14 per cent are international students, out of which six are foreign citizens and seven are foreign permanent residents.

The batch of PGPX 2013-14 was inaugurated on April 7, 2013 by Ajay Pandey, director in-charge of the IIM-A and was chosen from a large application pool and after an elaborate selection process.

The batch has an impressive profile with average GMAT score of 711, average age of around 34 years, average total work experience of 10 years and average international work experience of 3 years, an official statement informed.

The latest batch include 11 (12.95 per cent) women students. The industry mix includes, airline/travel, BPO, defense, education, energy/power, financial services, government services, healthcare, hospitality services, infrastructure, IT and IT services, management consultancy, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing process, media, NGOs, retail, shipping and telecom.
