The sixth batch of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA)'s one year post graduate programme in management for executives (PGPX) was inaugurated on Monday by BH Jajoo, dean of the institute.
The 2011-12 batch this year has seen 102 students, up from 86 in the fifth batch last year. "The students have joined PGPX 2011-12 batch from a large application pool and after an elaborate selection process. Incoming students, their family members and the IIMA faculty attended the inauguration at the campus," said Jajoo. The students were briefed about the programme structure and about various courses offered by different areas during the inaugural session.
In terms of profile, the PGPX 2011-12 batch has an average Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) score of 714, average age of around 34 years, an average work experience of 10 years and average international work experience of about 4.5 years.
Students from various industries such as financial services, telecom, IT, manufacturing, healthcare and public sector have joined the programme. It is to be mentioned here that the PGPX programme has been ranked 11th in the Financial Times Global MBA ranking 2011 recently.
