The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) has launched General Management Programme for Aerospace and Aviation Executives (GMAE).

Those who complete the GMAE programme are eligible to pursue the Aerospace MBA being offered by the Toulouse Business School, France (TBS). Aerospace MBA is a two-year programme, delivered by both faculty members from TBS and IIMB together with industry experts from aeronautics, aviation, space and defence, IIMB stated.

“We have strong links with most of the companies involved in the sector: Airbus International (based in Toulouse), Airbus France, Airbus India, Boeing, ATR, Safran, CNES, among others. The long-term support of Airbus for this programme is one of its strongest assets,” said Francois Bonvalet, dean, Toulouse Business School.

The first year of the programme is dedicated to aerospace and aviation core management, while the second year is dedicated to aerospace and aviation sub-sectors, management challenges and supervised projects.

This programme offers an optional week in Toulouse where participants are given the opportunity to study and also visit major aerospace companies.

The same programme is also delivered in Toulouse with study periods in Montreal (Canada) and Seattle (USA). Participants can then decide whether to study in Bengaluru or choose any combinations of these programmes and take the unique opportunity to study in Bengaluru, Toulouse, Montreal and Seattle.

Successful participants will receive a certificate from IIMB and TBS for the General Management Programme for Aerospace and Aviation Executives at the end of the first stage and an aerospace MBA from TBS after the completion of the second stage.

The GMAE certificate holders can choose to pursue the Aerospace MBA either immediately after completing the certificate programme or within two years of completing the programme, IIMB said.

To be offered admission, applicants must have a bachelor degree and five years of professional experience.

“The aim is to gather individuals from the aerospace industry and its sub-sectors (aviation, civil aircraft and engines manufacturing, defense and space) so that they share their experience and expertise, develop and deploy a global and international network of future leaders,” said Devanath Tirupati, dean (academic), IIMB and one of the programme directors.
