The global economy may be in the doldrums with no sense of direction right now, and Indian economy is not exactly showing a sign of speedy growth. But, the summer placements at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, (IIM-B) seems to have bucked the trend.
If one goes by the initial signs of summer placements at the IIM-B, the economy may be in for a rebound. The number of companies that are coming in for the placements to IIM-B showed a slight increase. This year, on day zero 390 students participated and 130 companies were there. "There is a small increase in the number of companies coming to the campus and we have a window of a week to wrap the placements, which started on November 6," a senior official of IIM-B said.
The major recruiters who came today in the first round of placements included investment banks, IT consulting firms, consulting majors including Boston Consulting Group among others.
