London School of Economics (LSE) educated Dr Ajit Prasad today took over as full time Director of Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L).
The institute got its full-time director after about a year following the retirement of Prof Devi Singh and appointment of two acting directors.
Apart from LSE, Prasad is an alumnus of St Stephens College, Delhi University, the Delhi School of Economics and International Management Institute.
He possesses long experience in the government, industry and academia. His industry experience relates to State Bank of India (SBI), Planning Commission, Steel Authority of India (SAIL) and the UN/ESCAP at Bangkok.
Prasad taught at Delhi University, Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon. Besides, he has been a visiting faculty at the IIMs, S P Jain, IIFT, MICA and other prominent business schools.
He has been on international faculty rolls in the UK, France, the Netherlands, Dubai and Singapore.

Prior to joining IIM-L, he was associated with S P Jain Institute of Management & Research Mumbai as Professor of Strategy.
His publications have been in the spheres of Corporate Planning, Strategic Thinking and Governance inclusive of issues on Ethics.
Prasad authored three books and research papers in national and international journals.
He is on the Academic Governing board of Milano Politechnique, Milan, Italy. In 2010, he was appointed as Independent Director on the board of Power Finance Corporation.
