IIM Lucknow to take agri-business global

With an aim to to explore opportunities in the agri-business sector, the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM-L) is set to organise an international conference on 'Agri-business and Food Industry in Developing Countries: Opportunities and Challenges' this August.
 
Prominent participants at the conference include Gerald Asmith, Attaché Agri Affairs for India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka; Ted Huffman, Director (Supply Chain) of Wal-Mart; and T Haque, Chairman, Agri Price and Cost Commission.
 
Nearly 150 academicians and industrialists are expected to take part from India while there are a few participants who are expected to come from the US, China and Pakistan too. Around 60 research papers and case studies will be submitted from various parts of the globe at the conference.
 
The Agriculture Management Center (AMC) of the IIM-L, which is organising the conference, has emerged as a world-class centre in the field of agri-business management.
 
The centre produces managers for efficient management of agri-business sector through its two-year programme.
 
In addition, AMC imparts high-level practical training to the working executives and offers consultancy to national and international organizations in the field of agribusiness and rural management.
