IIMA Confluence 2010 bats for inclusive innovation

Confluence 2010, an annual three-day management conclave held by the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIMA) kicked off with a panel discussion centered on innovation along with inclusivity in business.

"The e-commerce has to move from i-commerce, i.e. inclusive commerce in the coming days. There has to inclusivity attached to any company's innovative measures," said Vishal Mehta, chief executive officer, Infibeam during the panel discussion. Apart from Mehta, the panel members included Deep Kalra, founder and chief executive officer of Makemytrip.com, Arjun Uppal, head of Hariyali Kisaan Bazaar, Nikhil Rungta, marketing head at Google India, and R Ramakumar, chief executive officer, Pears Capital.The panel felt encouraged students and participants to see the rise in entrepreneurship over the past decade in India. "Innovation is just a medium to solve customer problems which is the real goal of any entrepreneur," said Kalra, gave examples of how makemytrip.com has succeeded through customer focused innovation.
