IIT-B's SOM sees swift, swell placements

Be it engineering or management, it seems IITians really know how to get all the top jobs.
 
The Shailesh J Mehta School of Management at IIT Mumbai completed its placement with 85 job offers being made for its 52 students.What's more, the placement for the entire batch was completed in just eight hours.
 
With an average salary of Rs 7.43 lakh per annum and the highest domestic salary of Rs 11 lakh, the college is clearly in the big league.
 
The campus was visited by 74 companies such as IBM, Tata Strategic Management Group, JP Morgan Chase, SBI Caps, Ernst & Young, Godrej, e-Clerx, Cadbury, Marico, Citibank, Accenture, Infosys Technologies, Wipro, Bristlecone, Anand Group, Mahindra British Telecom.
 
The job profiles offered were well distributed across various verticals and functional areas.
 
Consulting profiles were offered by companies such as Tata Strategic Management Group, Accenture, Bristlecone, Avalon, Infosys Technologies, Ernst & Young etc.
 
The information technology and information technology-enabled services sectors were accounted for by big names such as IBM, Oracle Corporation, Wipro, i-flex solutions, HCL, Patni Computers, e-Clerx, Evalueserve and Symphony Services India.
 
FMCG companies such as Marico, Godrej, Cadbury came to pick their share of the best. Banking and finance majors such as Citibank, GECIS, JP Morgan Chase, SBI Caps and SBI came calling too.
 
Automotive majors such as Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Anand Group and telecom companies such as Bharti Telecom, Idea Cellular, MBT, MAQ Software came in search for technology managers. Companies such as Nicholas Piramal, Lupin and Torrent represented the pharmaceutical sector.
