The Institute of Rural Management, Anand (Irma), the premier rural management institute in the country, will launch its International Journal of Rural Management (IJRM) shortly. The first issue of the bi-annual journal would be published in April-May this year.

"IRMA is the first institute in India to coin the concept of 'rural management' in the field of academics. The journal would cover the issues of community development, social work, and sustainable development," said Saswata Biswas, editor for IJRM and professor at Irma.

The journal would be published twice in a year with content of about 100 to 150 pages per issue. The international journal would be published and distributed by Sage Publications India.

IJRM will publish both conceptual and empirical papers with original contribution to the field of rural management. Along with articles IJRM will also publish reports of research in progress, comments on previously published articles and analyses of current and topical practice, policy and theory.

"The people associated with rural development nationally and internationally have been taking great interests at works at Irma. The journal will focus on research, practice and academics to give justice to all aspects related to rural management theories and practices," said Biswas.

Irma aims to provide a platform for academicians as well as practitioners to share their academic work and learning gained in the field of rural management through IJRM.
