The ISB today celebrated its 13th graduation day ceremony at its Hyderabad campus. As many as 766 students passed out of the class of PGMP (Postgraduate Programme in Management) 2014 and 61 students from the PGMP Max class of 2013.
Speaking on the occasion, ISB dean Ajit Rangnekar said with the graduating classes this year, the B-school now had over 6,000 alumni spread across over 100 cities across the world, of which over 180 were in CXO positions, 350 started their own entrepreneurial journey while six alumni had completed their PhDs and now teaching at top B-schools in the world.
"The number of articles published by ISB faculty in internationally top ranked peer reviewed journals almost doubled this year to 22 from 12 last year. Further, our research is increasingly creating a mark in academia," he said, adding from less than five faculty members in 2004-05, the B-school had now grown to about 50 permanent faculty members.
ISB chairman Adi Godrej said the changing circumstances that India was currently witnessing in the globalised economy were opening up new opportunities. "Resurgence in certain sectors needs to be further strengthened through sound and ethical business practice and better governance," he said.
