Hyderabad-based Indian School of Business (ISB), seeing a growth of almost 25 per cent in its admissions for the one-year management programme this year, is now focussing on increasing the number of information sessions with prospective students.
These sessions, which include video conferencing and world MBA tours, are done with prospective students to guide them about the available courses, the admission process and procedures to follow.
Though the institute has been doing this for a long time, now it is now planning to double the number of video conferencing sessions from 25 to 50 this year.
“These information sessions are a good exposure for students who are looking for top B-schools. Moreover, probable students can now also go to the ISB campus to meet and understand the teachers, students and teaching methods there,” said a prospective student.
World MBA sessions are conducted in 30 countries across the globe. These sessions cover almost 60 cities in the country and every session takes 1-1.5 hours.
All probable students can sit for these sessions and the application process is completely online. Students only need to pay a registration fee and they can attend these sessions.

“Even engineering students who are planning for their future, can sit in these information sessions. We take students with experience and many of them move from one career to another. So, we have these information sessions with students. There could be live one-to-one sessions or video conferencing sessions, if they are in other cities,” said V K Menon, Admissions Head, ISB.
In fact, because of these innovative sessions, the admission applications are expected to rise by 40 per cent as more students can interact with the ISB’s alumni .
“For this, we are getting help from our alumni across the world,” said Menon.
