Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad's centre of excellence is gearing up to churn out a fresh breed of entrepreneurs.

In a unique attempt to promote all-rounder innovators, who are experts in all aspects of business management, the communication school’s Entrepreneurship Development Centre (MICA-EDC) is all set to propose a programme to manage innovations efficiently.

As part of its international collaboration with University of Essex, UK, MICA-EDC is considering a two-year joint post-graduate programme (PGP) in Innovations Management.

“Marketing and finance are not a problem anymore in the business scenario, the need of the hour is innovators who can come up with products that the consumer wants. An innovator creates a product but sometimes lacks the ability to judge the market demand. Through this course, we plan to train innovators to create products at the customer level and create more buyers of innovation. The course proposes to cover all aspects of innovations and business management like creativity, technology management, finance, brand building and management and strategic business plan,” says Gautam Raj Jain, senior professor and executive vice chairman, MICA-EDC.

Once the programme sees itself through the planning stage, the proposal will be made to the Dept. of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, which supports the centre to promote business inititiatives in the area of communications management.

In the meantime, the centre, in collaboration with Essex Business School, University of Essex, in collaboration with the OECD LEED Programme at Paris, France, will host the 8th International Entrepreneurship Forum conference on the theme ‘Creativity and Entrepreneurship: Imperatives for Sustainable Global Based Knowledge Economy’ at Ahmedabad during December 17-18 this year.

The conference aims to provide a platform for researchers, policy makers and practitioners in recognition of the increasing flow of ideas, resources and knowledge between businesses, institutions and policy makers.
