After a difficult 2008-09, placements during the current academic session have picked up dramatically at International School of Business & Media, Kolkata.
The institute has already placed about 50 per cent of its second year students who will graduate in March this year, and over 65 per cent of its first year for their summer internship programme, which will commence from April.
Average salary at the institute this year is Rs 5 lakh per annum, and the highest salary so far is Rs 9.4 lakh per annum.
Regular recruiters include LG Electronics, Bajaj Allianz, Birla Sun Life Asset Management, Emami, SBI Life Insurance, Videocon Industries, Mahindra Finance, Rasna, L&T Finance and Tata Teleservices.
Companies that gave campus recruitments amiss during 2008-09 because of the global economic recession, but have returned this year, include Standard Chartered Bank, ITC Wills Lifestyle Division, Kotak Group, Kansai Nerolac, India Infoline, India Bulls, Shoppers Stop, Reliance Communications, and Indusind Bank.
A major development for the 2009-10 placement season is that the institute has secured its first ever overseas placement, in G-Hanz, a German consumer electronics company. The selected students will be posted in Dubai and Bangladesh.
