Irrespective of gender, age or regional differences, Indians rank relationships and travel as the most important dreams to fulfil on their bucket lists while money and career goals take a back seat, finds a study by Ginger Hotels, titled 'Ginger Bucket List 2015'. Indians, across all demographics, are making life choices based on a broader definition of goals, which are more attuned to experiences than material gains and ego boosts.
When quizzed about their money muse, a majority of Indians strongly believe their money is not just theirs. Family or partners ideally come first. Experiences and assets follow the spending priorities and only a minority of Indians say they spend all their money on building memories for themselves. Also, while making holiday plans, a majority are likely to check with family first.
The study also attempts to measure social media envy and finds that the images of friends enjoying holidays is the single highest cause of envy across all age-groups.
Also, unlike popular conception, the study finds that women today choose travel and career as the most important dreams to fulfill on their bucket lists, followed by money.
