Reliance ropes in Sahara's Chakraverty

Reliance Entertainment has roped in Sahara One Motion Pictures' Panchali Chakraverty as head of acquisitions and syndication for its motion pictures business. Chakraverty will be joining the company next week. A company source confirmed the development.

Chakraverty will be in charge of acquisition as well as syndication of rights nationally as well as internationally for movies of content for various processes including broadcasting and new media.

Prior to Sahara, Chakraverty was earlier with SET India's movies and events channel Max handling movie acquisitions.The Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Enterprise is sprucing its media and entertainment arm.

Already making inroads into this space, Reliance has applied for a direct-to-home licence and recently acquired a controlling stake in Adlabs Films, a leading motion picture processing laboratory which also runs a chain of multiplexes.
