Canada-based Schulich School of Business has launched a two year MBA programme in collaboration with the S P Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR).
The new full time MBA programme, which commenced this month, has been established through a twinning arrangement between the two institutes as part of which students will complete the first year at SPJIMR in Mumbai and the second year at the Schulich School of Business in Toronto. Of the 10 courses in the two terms, Schulich faculty will teach eight and SPJIMR faculty will teach two.
“Our intent is to prepare students from India for the global marketplace. This programme in India is designed to create managers who will create and facilitate the explosive growth in trade between India and Canada,” said Dezso J Horvath, Dean, Schulich School of Business.
Besides giving students the access to 18 specialisations, the Schulich India MBA also involves an eight-month real world strategy field study course where they provide concrete strategic guidance to companies on a real time basis. “Schulich faculty will deliver all courses in Toronto in the final year,” added Horvath.
The programme will enroll 30 students and costs around $32,000 (Rs 1,47,200). It has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and will lead to students getting a Schulich degree after two years.
