Siva Sivani Institute of Management (SSIM), a Secunderabad-based autonomous business school, on Monday announced plans to achieve the ‘deemed university’ status within five years.
SSIM director VG Chari told the media that it would go for accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation as well as other international bodies before applying for the ‘de novo deemed university’ status in five years' time.
The institute is also looking to collaborate with institutes in the Saarc and Asean regions, according to Sailesh Sampathy, vice president, SSIM.
One such MoU would be signed with Shinawatra University of Thailand on August 3, during the Siva Sivani group’s golden jubilee celebrations at its Kompally campus, he said.
The institute already has already tied up with the Institute for Management Studies of Bhutan, and is working on a partnership with institutions in South Africa.
“The idea is that the case studies and models from developing countries would be more relevant for other developing countries,” Chari said.
The institute offers two-year PGDM courses with various specialisations, and with a total intake of 480.
