Proportionality of successful summer placements should not be linked with final placements as summer placements have taken a totally new dimension with students now more interested in working in live projects, adding versatile dimension in their CV by joining NGOs, political parties, IPL franchises etc. Indeed this is a positive signal in the B-school curriculum and an opening up of completely new path for B-school students where they are able to learn more and are anchored more responsibilities rather than joining traditional path of following footsteps of organisations. Eventually they are the one who will be future managers in the industry.

Successful summer placement is a welcome augur for B-School students. Internship plays a vital role in final placements as it aid students in gaining vital knowledge. It portrays the interest of students in the specific sector and gaining first hand industry experience. It can well be converted in to PPO/PPI. It also fills students with much needed confidence that helps not only in final placements, but also throughout life. More Importantly, Excellent summer placements is an indicator of a good economy, which will translate into better final placements.
Since B-schools are all about management, these skills are best learnt on the job. Application of management principles provides a practical insights into theories, which makes the interview performance even better ( as you can quote examples from your own work! ). From Company's perspective also, an experienced candidate needs lesser training than a novice. This would a. Provide an already trained, exposed and experienced professional and b. Save on training costs. Besides this, experienced candidates are seen to have better tenets of professionalism and strong communication skills.
Efficient and quality work defines a good profile. Summer Placements are a small indication rather. Final placements are depend on the candidate's practical knowledge over the traditional theory knowledge. Final placements includes incentives which is lower or negligible in summer placements, So it a good indicative term but slow economy growth, inflation and low sentiments in the market will inversely impact the party.
Summer placements across B-schools helps in getting better final placements. Summer placement are of 3 months in which students learn a lot. Students easily understand what the project is all about, its functioning, process, working in groups and management of work with different people. The only hope is to get into B-School if you want a good starter for your career. A student has to suffer from a deep financial stress from coaching institutes, entrance exams and academics fees. Mental stress from highly tough competition. Physical stress from travelling to different places either for coaching and entrance or admission. The successful summer placements across B-schools at least gives hope for better final placements.
Nowadays, these great and huge summer placements at B-schools definitely hint at better final placements for students as they provide confidence to students and generate feeling that they can achieve things by their labour and hard work. These summer placements programs make students to approach people,accept challenges and groom them for corporate world before their final placements. students also learn the discipline of their respective field and methods of conducting meetings reports etc. it also give students exposure to real world situations.
Summer placements mean a lot to MBA graduates for better final placements as these are the short term benefits delivered to the students which ultimately have a diversified long term benefit in their final placements as well as in their future. It is the only limited experience that they earn from their respective companies which essentially have a significant role in the final placements.
