The book that inspired me

Several books have had an impact on me. But Mahatma Gandhi's autobiography, The Story of My Experiments with Truth, is the one that has inspired me the most. This is more because of the humility and honesty of the author.

Mahatma Gandhi is one person who truly practised what he preached. Whatever he said, was always the truth, even if it didn't please everybody. His honesty shines through the book as he narrates the story of his life without any hesitation.

An important lesson the book has taught me is to always be truthful. An honest person commits fewer follies, which simplifies life to a great extent. This helps in business too. I try to follow in Gandhi's footsteps and imbibe his principle of honesty.

So, I try to be crystal clear with colleagues, customers, superiors and subordinates. And that gives a good impression of me to others and helps improve business relations.
