I have identified well with Spencer Johnson's Who Moved My Cheese? and it continues to remain my all-time favourite. I've read it a number of times and have even made presentations based on the book, which have been well received.

I believe the reason is the core message "" move your cheese before someone else does "" which the author puts across in a simple, yet effective manner. This message, as most readers of this book would agree, is relevant in every aspect of life.

In business, it advises you not to be complacent or panic under pressure and to ensure that you are on the pulse all the time. For employees, it advocates that if you are getting stale in a particular job, then it is time to move on to a more challenging assignment rather than just carrying on with something that has no future.

There are other reasons, too, why I like this book so much. One, the simplicity of the language. Two, it is concise and brief; Who Moved My Cheese? is not a thick tome, full of executive jargon. And finally, it is timeless "" it is relevant today and will continue to be relevant even 30 years down the line.
