Mumbai's S P Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) is one of the 11 institutes that have been selected from across the world by the Aspen Institute, New York, a non-profit organisation, to be involved in the teaching innovation programme (TIP). |
SPJIMR's role will be to analyse and strengthen an on-going effort to build leadership competencies in social impact management amongst management students and corporate managers, which will enhance the effectiveness of both content and delivery of the effort in Social Impact Management. |

The objectives of the pilot project to be taken up by the institute are: integrating social impact management across the MBA curriculum; working on corporate business course so as to strengthen the long-term value of the firm, and reinforcing a knowledge-sharing environment across B-schools in India and abroad through active participation. |

XLRI's alumni meet |

The Delhi chapter of the Xavier Labour Research Institute (XLRI) held its annual alumni meet last month. The meet was coordinated by the batch of 2005, which at present is doing its internship in and around Delhi. |

New B-school |

On June 8, the Rs 160-crore Jaipuria Group (Ginni International) announced the launch of its second B-school, the Jaipuria Institute of Management, (JIM), at Noida. |

The group has invested Rs 15 crore in the Noida institute and plans to put in another Rs 30 crore in its various education initiatives. The group's first management institute, Jaipuria Institute of Management in Lucknow, was established in 1995. |

The Noida campus is spread over 4 acres and will offer an All India Council for Technical Education-approved, two-year full time MBA programme. |

Apart from that, four one-year, full-time post-graduate diploma courses will also be offered in journalism and mass communication; insurance and risk management; construction project management, and construction risk management. |

Apart from focusing on management education, research, training and consultancy, the new institute plans to specialise in the field of service management. |
