The collaborations will be fortified between the two institutes of repute through lectures delivered by the academic staff, professors and researchers.
"Mutual faculty exchanges will open up a horizon for UID to delve into and imbibe the best of the European culture while De Montfort University will get an exposure to Indian culture, history and depth of learning. Selected students from UK will come for specially designed workshops and work closely with artisans and other students to learn about Indian culture," said Pankaj Patel, head of operations and academic dean of UID.
The prime objective will be to enroll UID students to the various design programs offered by De Montfort University.
"It essential to widen the horizon of learning and take note of creations, researches and studies at a global level. We do hope our students benefit from this agreement while the faculty gets an opportunity to hone up their skills further," said Ritesh Hada, managing director, United Group.
The agreement stipulates that UID students, second year onwards, may enroll in Level 5 of De Montfort University's design course. Hence, UID's students will undergo foundation training in the first year of their four-year course in the UID Campus at Ahmedabad.
