The XPRESSIONS -2011, the annual fest of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB), a premier B-school of the country, has kick started here on Thursday. The theme for this year’s fest, which will continue upto 13th November, is IRIDESCENCE-the colorful expressions.
During the course of the event, a conclave will be held where reputed corporate heads will deliberate on the issues pertaining to the world of business.
The four day long extravaganza will feature plethora of games like Gladiator, Kurukshetra, Skill City, Helios and Spardha.
While Gladiator is a competition that will test the interpersonal and managerial skills of students, Krukshetra is a cross functional business strategy game that tests the business acumen and decision making skills.
Similarly Helios is management game designed for the under graduate students while Spardha is a test of social entrepreneurial quotient.
This year XIMB is expecting 300 participants from 70 premier B-Schools like IIMs, Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS ), Faculty of Managements Studies (FMS) and XLRI among others and a foot fall of around 20000 during the four day fest.

Along with the business simulation events, Xpressions will also host various cultural events to light up the evenings. What is billed as the main attraction of the fest is the concluding programme Celeblitz - the star night. The glittering night will feature well known playback singer Lucky Ali.
Besides, a pre-event rock band competition has been organized among 17 bands from all over the country under the banner of Decibelz. Seven bands selected from this competition will give live performance before the audience during the event. Besides, there will be fashion shows, said Akankshit Kanungo, general secretary, students’ committee.
