The Xavier Labour Research Institute (XLRI), Jamshedpur has concluded summer placement for its largest batch so far.
The batch size this year was up by 26% with 303 students against 240 students in 2012. The institute said it wrapped up the placement process in less than four days.
While in 2012, 282 summer internship offers were made for 240 students, this year 336 offers were made for 303 students.

The number of companies visiting the campus increased by nearly 44% this year, with 105 companies participating in the process against 73 in 2012.
XLRI in a press statement said, "The number of offers from the finance domain went up sharply, with 33% of the business management students getting offers in the domain. Offers for the rest of the batch were in marketing and human resources. The top five recruiters, who offered most number of internships, include Vodafone, Microsoft, ITC, TAS and Standard Chartered Bank."
Prof. Rajiv Mishra - Chairperson, Placement at XLRI said, “The meteoric increase (of almost 50%) in the number of recruiters, even in this economic slowdown, stands testimony to the sustained faith shown by the industry in the much sought-after management professional talent at XLRI.”
Firms which recruited from XLRI include Carlyle Group, World Bank, Goldman Sachs, Standard Chartered Bank , BNP Paribas, Citibank, American Express, DBS, HSBC Bank, Rabobank, Nomura, Altisource, Federal Bank, Riverbridge Investment Bank and Uniquest Infra Ventures etc.
