XLRI places jumbo batch

Jamshedpur-based Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) has achieved 100 per cent placement for the entire graduating batch of 2005, the first year after XLRI doubled its intake of students in the bBusiness management stream.
 
XLRI had an international offer from Mittal Steel with a $80000 package.
 
Boston Consulting Group (BCG) made the highest domestic offer of Rs 12 lakh which were closely followed by HSBC Bank at Rs 11 lakh.
 
XLers also created new record by bagging over 30 pre-placement offers from companies based on summer internship projects and also by securing about 33 lateral offers obtained through the lateral placement programme specially designed for candidates with prior work experience.
 
XLRI's placement coordinator Sabyasachi Sengupta said the biggest recruiters this year were GE and IBM, with 12 and 11 students respectively.
 
Banks/FIs and ITTES sectors were tied at the top with 36 offers each. XLRI's successful three-year executive postgraduate business management programme in Dubai and India will be offered to working executives in Sri Lanka.
