The markets finished with modest gains for the third straight day today as investors continued to bet that the US-Iraq war will be brief and, perhaps, will kick-start an economic revival on a global scale.
After trading in a brand of 29.67 points, the sensex ended with gain of 7.22 points at 3,200.15. The S&P CNX Nifty, meanwhile, surged 5.30 points to settle at 1,030.55.
Both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will hold a special two-hour trading session on Saturday (between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm).
