Coal India, considered a feather in the government's cap in its disinvestment drive is concerned, has slipped below the initial public offering price. In 2010, the government had raised around Rs 15,000 crore in its largest-ever stake sale. Most large divestments in the past few years haven't made good returns for the investor. The current financial year is no different. Barring Power Grid, currently six per cent above its issue price, shares of most other companies are trading below their issue price. Engineers India, whose follow-on public offer shares will commence trading on Friday, is only slightly above its issue price
