37 newly listed firms outperform peers in Q2

g iron posted relatively lower sales growth of 16.18 per cent.  With expansion in operations, Yes Bank achieved interest income of Rs 36.94 crore in the quarter ended September 2005 from Rs 0.35 crore for the September 2004 quarter.  The bank also managed a turnaround by converting its net loss of Rs 1.74 crore in the September 2004 quarter to a net profit of Rs 14.25 crore in the September 2005 quarter.  Meanwhile, its stock price saw a marginal rise of 8.31 per cent to Rs 65.85 from the listing price of Rs 60.80. However, given its issue price of Rs 45 versus the current market price, it has given its investors a handsome return of 46.33 per cent.  Indiabulls posted the second highest sales growth at 633.42 per cent. The company also topped the stock price movement chart with a fabulous return of 603.77 per cent since its listing. The counter witnessed a steep rise within a year from Rs 23.85 on its listing date to Rs 167.85 now.

 Other companies, which have achieved more than 100 per cent rise in their stock prices since their listings, are Petronet LNG, Crew BOS Products, Four Soft, Gateway Distriparks, Bharti Shipyard and Ramkrishna Forgings.  NTPC, the largest power-generating company in India that had the highest sales figure amongst the 37 companies, showed a marginal growth in its sales of 12.89 per cent to Rs 5,925.90 crore. Its net profit rose just 6.35 per cent to Rs 1,163.50 crore
