 "8 Nifty50 stocks hit lifetime high")
Shares of eight companies - Asian Paints, Bajaj Auto, Eicher Motors, Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC), HDFC Bank, Hero MotoCorp, Kotak Mahindra Bank and UltraTech Cement from the Nifty50 index have hit their respective lifetime highs on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) today.
UltraTech Cement hit a new high of Rs 4,029 in intra-day trade after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) allowed foreign investors to invest up to 30% in the cement major.
"Foreign institutional investors (FIIs)/registered foreign portfolios investors (RFPIs) can now invest up to 30% of the paid-up capital of Ultra Tech Cement under the portfolio investment scheme (PIS)," RBI said in a release.
Kotak Mahindra Bank touched new high of Rs 807 after the private sector lender said the RBI has granted approval to Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) for acquiring shares in excess of 5% and below 10% of the paid up capital of Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited.
Three automobiles stocks – Bajaj Auto, Hero MotoCorp and Eicher Motors – hit a new high, while Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki India are trading at multi-year highs as a recovery in economic growth, sales prospects from new models overseas and incremental demand from hike in public sector wages provide a positive outlook ahead for the sector.
Besides these eight stocks, total 21 stocks from the Nifty 500 and BSE 500 have hit their respective lifetime highs on the bourses in intra-day trade on Wednesday. The list includes Voltas, Berger Paints, Dalmia Bharat, Indraprastha Gas, Petronet LNG, Voltas and SRF.
