Almond prices rose by Rs 100 per 40 kg bag in the national capital today due to pick up in demand, driven by the ongoing festive season.
Tight stocks following fall in supplies from overseas markets and firm trend in futures markets also supported the upside in the prices.
Almond (california) prices firmed by Rs 100 to Rs 10,300 per 40 kg, while its kernel moved up to Rs 360-365 from previous close of Rs 355-365 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said apart increased demand from stockists and retailers, restricted supplies from global markets, also gave push to rising almond prices.
