Almond surges almost 3% on good spot demand

Prices went up as speculators created fresh positionson

Almond prices surged by 2.95% to Rs 462.50 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positionson higher advices from producing belts.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the June contract shot up by Rs 13.25, or 2.95% to Rs 462.50 per kg in single lot.

Analysts said rising demand in spot markets and encouraging advices from producing belts jacked up almond prices at futures trade.
