Almond and its kernel prices surged by Rs 400 per 40 kg on the wholesale dry fruits market today on emergence of stockists buying on expectations of a rise in demand.
Traders said stockists buying in anticipation of a rise in demand mainly pushed up almond and its kernel prices.
Firming trends in producing regions further fuelled the uptrend, they said.
Almond (California) surged by Rs 400 to Rs 10,100 per 40 kg. Its kernel also moved up by Rs 9 to Rs 359-364 per kg.
