French electrical engineering group Alstom India has surged 2% to Rs 496 on the BSE after winning contracts worth 800 million euros (approx Rs 6,320 crore) in order to build high-voltage direct current power transmission lines in India, South Korea and Canada, the firm added.
Half of this amount was booked in the first quarter of its April 2014-March 2015 fiscal year and the other half will be booked in the second quarter, the company said in a statement.
Shares of Alstom India opened at Rs 497 touched a high of Rs 497.2 and a low of Rs 489 on the BSE. A total of 227 shares have been exchanged on the BSE so far.
