Supported by a firming trend at spot markets, aluminium futures traded Rs 0.35 or 0.37 per cent higher at Rs 95.50 per kg today.

However, weak trend at Shanghai and closure of the London Metal Exchange on account of bank holiday, capped gains.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in July contract traded Rs 0.35, or 0.37 per cent higher at Rs 95.50 per kg, with a turnover of one lot.

The metal for delivery in June contract also moved up by Rs 0.25, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 94.65 per kg, with a turnover of 60 lots.

Market analysts said firming trend at spot markets on strong demand for the metal from domestic consuming industries, helped aluminium to trade higher at futures market here but weak trend at Shanghai restricted gains.

Meanwhile, aluminium fell 85 yuan, or 0.55 per cent at 15,290 yuan per tonne at Shanghai.
