Aluminium down 1.76% in futures trade on global trend

Amid weak trend in global market on euro debt worries, aluminium traded lower by Rs 1.70 or 1.76 per cent to Rs 94.70 per kg in futures trade today.

Slack demand from consuming industries in physical markets also cast its shadow on the trading sentiment.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, aluminium for delivery in July contract lost Rs 1.70, or 1.76 per cent to Rs 94.70 per kg, with an open interest of 14 lots.

The metal for delivery in May contract weakened by Rs 0.65, or 0.69 per cent to Rs 92.95 per kg, with an open interest of 2,445 lots.

At Shanghai, aluminium fell by 470 yuan, or 3 per cent to 15,180 yuan per tonne, while at the London Metal Exchange it plunged $36, or 1.71 per cent at $2,065 per tonne.
