Aluminium prices fell by Rs 0.60, or 0.68 per cent at Rs 88.10 per kg in futures trade today, as traders reduced their positions, after taking cues from global markets.
Weak trend at domestic markets owing to subdued demand from the consuming industries too pulled down aluminium prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, aluminium for delivery in July-month contract eased by Rs 0.60, or 0.68 per cent to Rs 88.10 per kg, with a turnover of 235 lots.
The metal for delivery in June contract also weakened by Rs 0.55 or 0.63 per cent to Rs 87.05 per kg, with a turnover of 2,272 lots.
Marketmen said apart from a weakening global trend on European debt woes, weak demand for the metal at physical markets also put some pressure on the aluminium prices at futures market here.
