Aluminium prices rose by 0.36% to Rs 110.25 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by a pick-up in spot market demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for October delivery was trading higher by 50 paise, or 0.36%, at Rs 110.25 per kg, with an open interest for a single lot.

Likewise, the metal for August delivery edged up marginally by 5 paise, or 0.05%, to Rs 107.80 per kg, with a business volume of 993 lots.

Traders said speculators enlarging their positions on the back of a pick-up in demand in the spot market mainly led to the rise in aluminium futures prices.
