The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority has asked life insurers to follow a standard format for application forms, also known as proposal form. The intent is to curb misselling of products and make buyers aware of what they are buying. Once these changes are rolled out, buyers will be required to give more information about their lifestyle and needs.
