Apollo Hospitals up 1% on rise in FY09 net

Apollo Hospitals could not hold its gains and fell to a low of Rs 568, down 3% from he day's high. The stock finally ended 1% higher at Rs 572. The counter saw trading volumes of around 23,970 shares on the BSE today.

Apollo Hospitals has gained 2.5% in opening trades after announcing their FY09 numbers.

The stock opened at Rs 570 and surged 3.5% to a high of Rs 587. It is now up 2.5% at Rs 581. The stock has gained 13% in the last month. Around 3,612 stocks have been traded so far on the BSE.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE, the consolidated net profit has increased 33% to Rs 102.49 crore for the year ended March 31, 2009 from Rs 77.16 crore in the previous fiscal.

The total income is up 32% at Rs 1,635 crore from Rs 1,241.61 crore.
