Apollo Hospitals up 3% post Q1 numbers

The stock hit a new 52-week high in opening hour of trade

Apollo Hospitals gained nearly 3% at Rs 1,110 after the company posted a 4.8% increase in its standalone net profit to Rs. 82.74 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2014.

The healthcare major's total income during the April-June quarter also increased 17.72%  to Rs 1,053.72 crore as against Rs 895.04 crore for the same period year ago.

Also, the hospital is actively looking at expansion with the hub and spoke model and harnessing the telemedicine technology. In a first of its kind initiative, Apollo Hospitals introduced eICU, a remote ICU monitoring system in Chennai and Hyderabad hospitals.

The stock opened at its 52-week high of Rs 1,149.3 in opening trades. A total nearly 3.8 lakh shares changed hands on BSE and NSE.
