Reliance Communications (RCom), Ashok Leyland, Hexaware Technologies, MindTree, Polaris Consulting & Services, Tata Elxsi, AstraZeneca Pharma India and Coffee Day Enterprises are among 13 stocks from the BSE500 index hitting their respective 52-week lows on the BSE in intra-day trade after sharp decline in equity markets.
Benchmark indices have wiped off all gains and are trading near day's low after the Indian Army conducted surgical strikes across the Line of Control (LoC) on Wednesday night.
By 01:37 pm, the S&P BSE Sensex and the Nifty50 was down 1% each. The benchmark indices have fallen 2% each during intra-day trade.
RCom has dipped nearly 8% to Rs 44.10 on the BSE in intra-day trade. Thus far in September, the stock slipped 19% as compared to 1.9% decline in the benchmark index.
In early September, RCom had gone into a definitive agreement with Aircel for the merger of wireless businesses with itself. A definitive agreement is a document defining the final terms of an agreement between the buyer and seller, typically of a firm’s assets or stock. RCom and Aircel will have equal stake in the merged entity.
AstraZeneca Pharma India was down 4% to Rs 916, extending it’s an over a month-long decline after the company said it has received notice from AstraZeneca UK for termination of distribution arrangements for Meronem in India. Since August 24, the stock plunged 20% from Rs 1,141, against less than 1% fall in the Sensex.
Ashok Leyland too hit a 52-week low of Rs 76.80, down 6% on the BSE in intra-day trade. The stock of commercial vehicles maker slipped 9% from Rs 84.43 on September 14, after the company’s decision to merge the loss making Hinduja Foundries.
