Ashok Leyland touches new high post February sales

The stock hit a record high of Rs 72.95 on NSE.

Shares of Ashok Leyland has moved higher by 4.5% to Rs 72.95, also its record high on NSE, after the company reported 36% year-on-year jump in total sales at 10,762 units in February 2015.  The company had sold 7,915 units during the same month of 2014.

Sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) jump 48% in February 2015 to 8,230 units as against 5,576 units sold during the same month of previous year, Ashok Leyland said in a statement.

The sales of Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) grew by 8%, at 2,532 units during February, 2015, as against 2,339 units in the corresponding month of last year, it added.

The stock opened at Rs 71.70 and touched a low of Rs 70.80 on NSE. The trading volumes on the counter more than doubled with a combined 26.39 million shares changed hands on the NSE and BSE.
