Asian markets end in red; Hang Seng, Shanghai slump

Asian markets have ended in the red today on weak cues from the global markets. The Hang Seng slumped 578 points (2.5%) to 21,749. The Nikkei slipped 14 points to 3,276.

The Shanghai Composite plunged 101 points (3%) to 3,173. The Seoul Composite ended down 27 points (1.6%) at 1,671.

The Taiwan Weighted and the Straits Times dropped around 1% each.

Asian markets continue to move in red.

The Hang Seng has dropped 502 points or 2% to 21,825.

The Nikkei is down 108 points or 1% at 10,771.

The Shanghai Composite Index has declined 76 points or 2% to 3,198.

The Straits Times has slipped 16 points or 0.5% to 2,900. The Seoul Composite Index and the Taiwan Weighted index is down 1% at 1,678 and 8,211, respectively.

Asian markets have opened weak this morning, following cues from the US markets.

The Hang Seng has slumped 416 points (2%) to 21,910. The Nikkei has dropped 97 points (1%) to 10,782.

The Shanghai Composite has plunged 67 points (2%) to 3,207.

The Taiwan Weighted and the Seoul Composite have dropped 1% each to 8,222 and 1,683, respectively.

The Straits Times is down 17 points at 2,899.
