Asian markets end positive; Hang Seng up 1%

The Asian markets ended on a positive note.

The Hang Seng advanced 132 points or 1% to 19,922. The Nikkei added 32 points or 0.3% at 9,964.

The Shanghai Composite Index increased 1% to 2,982.

The Taiwan Weighted Index was up 81 points or 1% at 7,442. The Straits Times and the Seoul Composite on the other hand were marginally down.

The Asian markets have given up some of their gains.

The Hang Seng is now quoting at 19,782, down seven points, while the Nikkei is at 10,005, up 72 points.

Taiwan Weighted is at 7,428, stronger by 67 points and Shanghai Composite is at 2,967, up 18 points.

On the other hand, Straits Times is 2,733, down 11 points or 0.4%.

The Hang Seng is quoting at 19,838, higher by 48 points or 0.2% and the  Nikkei is at 10,035, stronger by 102 points or 1%.

Seoul Composite is at 1,574, higher by 4 points or 0.2%, Taiwan Weighted is at 7,490, stronger by 129 points or 1.7% and Shanghai Composite is at 2,970, up 21 points or 0.7%.
