The Hang Seng pared its gains and ended 187 points(1%) higher at 18,576. The Nikkei added 37 points at 9,742.
The Shanghai Composite has advanced 54 points (2%).
The Straits Times moved up eight points at 2,385 and the Seoul Composite was flat at 1,415.
However,the Taiwan Weighted Index slipped 56 points to 6,893.

Stocks in Asia advanced on Wednesday, holding near nine-month highs, but investors were highly cautious about whether the recent advances could be extended.
The Hang Seng has soared 420 points (2.28%). The Nikkei has advanced 46 points to 9,750.
The Shanghai Composite has gained 30 points (1.1%) and the Straits Times has advanced 31 points (1.3%).
The Seoul Composite is flat at 1,414.

Signs of economic improvement from global markets helped Asian markets open mostly in the green this morning.
The Hang Seng slipped 58 points to 18,831. Japan's Nikkei advanced 65 points to 9,743.
The Straits Times moved up 25 points (1%) to 2,405. The Shanghai Composite gained 26 points (1%) at 2,748.
The Taiwan Weighted, however, shed 47 points at 6,907. The Seoul Composite is flat at 1,420.
