The Asian markets have closed in the red. The Hang Seng closed at 21,405, weaker by 460 points or 2.1% and the Nikkei shut shop at 10,908, lower by 193 points or 1.7%.
Taiwan Weighted ended at 7,854, weaker by 257 points or 3.1%, Seoul Composite closed at 1,705, lower by 29 points or 1.6%, and Straits Times shut at 2,959, down 47 points or 1.5%.
Shanghai Composite shed 150 points or 4.7% at 2,980.
Meanwhile, The European markets have edged lower in early trades. The FTSE is quoting at 5,725, weaker by 18 points or 0.3%, CAC is at 3,959, lower by 27 points or 0.6% and DAX is at 6,167, down 13 points or 0.2%.
