Asian markets in red; Nikkei down 168pts

The Hang Seng has shed 390 points at 25,060. The Nikkei has slipped 168 points to 13,776.

The Taiwan Weighted index has dropped 24 points to 8,842. The Straits Times index has slipped 18 points to 3,154, and the Seoul Composite index has dropped 26 points to 1,822.

The Shanghai Composite index is down 37 points at 3,620.
