The Hang Seng has gained 124 points at 22,759. The Nikkei has advanced 59 points to 13,889.
The Taiwan Weighted index has moved up 14 points to 7,869. The Straits Times and the Seoul Composite indices have added 13. points each to 3,000 and 1,731, respectively.
The Shanghai Composite index, however, is down 26 points at 2,879.
