Taking a cue from the developments in the US markets overnight, the Asian indices have opened in the red.
Hang Seng is quoting at 19,546, weaker by 33 points or 0.17% and the Nikkei has opened at 9,767, lower by 263 points or 2.6%.
Seoul Composite is quoting at 1,600, weaker by 30 points or 1.83%,Taiwan Weighted is at 7,228, lower by 197 points or 3% and Straits Times is at 2,700, down 54 points or 2%.
Shanghai Composite is at 2,701, down 38 points or 1.4%.
